These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the LawSociety website and platform, including all content, member directories, event registrations, and continuing legal education (CLE) materials. By accessing or using LawSociety, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately. LawSociety was established in 2015 and serves bar association members aged 30-60 who adhere to professional standards and seek membership benefits and continuing education requirements.

  1. Acceptance of Terms. By registering for or using LawSociety, you represent that you are a licensed attorney, bar association member, or legal professional in good standing. You agree to comply with all applicable laws, professional conduct rules, and these terms.
  2. Membership and Account Responsibilities. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. LawSociety reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or professional ethics.
  3. Limitation of Liability. LawSociety provides information, event listings, CLE resources, and member benefits on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LawSociety, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to errors in CLE course content, missed deadlines, or reliance on third-party bar association data. LawSociety’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to LawSociety in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
  4. Disclaimers of Warranties. LawSociety does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components. All content, including CLE materials and event information, is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice or a substitute for professional judgment. LawSociety disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  5. User Conduct and Professional Standards. You agree not to use LawSociety for any fraudulent, unlawful, or unethical purpose. You shall not upload or share content that violates attorney-client privilege, confidentiality rules, or any bar association code of conduct. LawSociety reserves the right to remove any content that violates these standards.
  6. Intellectual Property. All content, trademarks, logos, and platform design are owned by LawSociety or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without prior written consent. Use of LawSociety materials for commercial purposes outside of bar association membership is prohibited.
  7. Third-Party Links and Content. LawSociety may contain links to third-party websites, bar association portals, or CLE providers. LawSociety does not endorse or assume responsibility for any third-party content, privacy practices, or services. Your interactions with third parties are solely between you and them.
  8. Termination and Suspension. LawSociety may terminate or suspend your access at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these terms, non-payment of membership fees, or conduct that brings disrepute to the legal profession. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.
  9. Modifications to Terms. LawSociety reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on the platform, and your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
  10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution. These terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States and the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, with the arbitration taking place in New York County, New York.
